About Kevin

our fearless leader

Kevin's first interest in computer technology was around 1988. He ran a Spitfire BBS (Bulletin Board System) for a number of years, which was a predecessor to our modern internet. It was dial-up of course, but was still pretty cool for its time. A few years later, Crimson Cross Computer Services was born, or CC Computers as it is known today.

Short Bio About Kevin

I became interested in computer technology in the late 80's. It was an interest that became an adventure that is still going today. I started a bulletin board system around 1990 that allowed others to log in using dial up modems. There were online games, network mail relays, downloads, etc., that users enjoyed while connected. While running the BBS for several years, I also studied computer programming with the NRI Institute in languages of Basic, Fortran, COBOL, Turbo Pascal, and 'C'. Turbo Pascal became my programming language of choice, and I developed and wrote several add-on programs for the Spitfire Bulletin Board System. I found programming to be quite addictive actually, and stayed up way too late many nights to complete a section of code. My largest project ended up being over 34,000 lines of code.

My education in computer technology continued, and still continues today as changes in technology bring new challenges and opportunities almost daily. The constant flow of changes is what has inspired me. I look forward to each day at work as new challenges motivate me in searching for new solutions. I feel like I inherited a gift of problem solving from my father. He was always good at looking at a problem, analyzing various options, and coming up with the right solution to make it work. Troubleshooting seems to come naturally to me, and isolating and fixing problems is one of the most rewarding feelings ever.
